Riva, URCHIN and The Wiggle Room are joining Taste of Cape Town, adding four chefs to a lineup that now brings twelve chefs from ten kitchens to Green Point. The latest names are Riva’s Nicolo Rovarini and Federico Rocca, URCHIN’s Marcus Gericke and The Wiggle Room’s Ismail “Fish” Amos.
The additions widen the range of cooking on the festival field. Riva brings an Italian seafood background, while Gericke’s URCHIN at the Hyatt Regency builds its menus around the food of the Western Cape. His restaurant’s current Journey menu takes an eleven-course route through the province, alongside an à la carte menu inspired by the Cape coastline.
Amos brings another perspective from The Wiggle Room on Bree Street, where his Durban roots inform the food and music is woven into the chef’s-table experience.
The new arrivals join James Gaag of La Colombe, Peter Tempelhoff and Ashley Moss of FYN, Bertus Basson of Basson & Co, Amori Burger of Upper Union, Vusi Ndlovu of EDGE, Shaun Scrooby of Vuur and Arlind Harizaj of Amura.
Each restaurant is set to serve two Signature Dishes and one Exclusive Dish made for the festival. Visitors can buy individual plates and move between kitchens, building a meal across several restaurants. Beyond the specified vouchers in Premium and Lux passes, extra food and drinks are purchased separately.
Lineup announcement: Bolander, 4 November.
